Collar bone tattoos

I posted a little while ago about a bird silhouette tattoo that I want to get on my collar bone/front shoulder area, however a tattoo artist that I spoke with said that tattoos in that area tend to blur/bleed badly. I was wondering if anyone had tattoos in that area and if you had problems with it. Thanks again for the help!

all tattoos blur, so you may need to decide on a size that will combat this problem. bleeding is just something you need to decide whether you want to put up with or not.

I'm definitely wanting to have them larger than in the picture. I was just worried that if the collar bone area is more prone to blurring that I might want to reconsider placement. Thanks for the help!

Are you talking about post-healed bleeding? I've never heard of this before.

I mean bleeding as in the ink moving under the skin while/after healing causing the blurred look. Some call it blurring others call it bleeding. At least what I've heard, I could be mistaken.

I have tattoos on both sides in those spots, and have had no problems. I don't think it bled more than any of my other tattoos, and I think a small size and not that particular placement will lead to blurring.

fresh rat Sept 08:

a minute ago: both rat and robin (rat feet and robin's red were just touched up a couple days ago)

ironically, they're both literary-related (based on Beatrix Potter's drawings)

No, it's not mine just one similar to what I'm wanting. My artist refuses to do any that small (although I really like it).

it does have to do with how small it is, but also how good the artist is as well. make sure yours is top notch and you should be fine.

thank you! i'm hoping that as long as i make sure the birds are a little larger and keep it simple that i'll be fine.

Horse poo. It hurts badly when the needle crosses the collar bone, but my 5 year old tattoo looks lovely.
