Collar bone tattoos
posted a little while ago about a bird silhouette tattoo that I want to get on my collar bone/front shoulder area, however a tattoo artist that I spoke with said that tattoos in that area tend to blur/bleed badly. I was wondering if anyone had tattoos in that area and if you had problems with it. Thanks again for the help!
all tattoos blur, so you may need to decide on a size that will combat this problem. bleeding is just something you need to decide whether you want to put up with or not.
I'm definitely wanting to have them larger than in the picture. I was just worried that if the collar bone area is more prone to blurring that I might want to reconsider placement. Thanks for the help!
Are you talking about post-healed bleeding? I've never heard of this before.
I mean bleeding as in the ink moving under the skin while/after healing causing the blurred look. Some call it blurring others call it bleeding. At least what I've heard, I could be mistaken.
Haha! Silly me. I thought you were talking about tattoo induced hemophilia. I was both baffled and terrified.
Also, I really enjoy this tattoo. Very nice.
Thanks :) If I hadn't talked to the tattoo artist about it I would have thought it meant that too lol.
I have tattoos on both sides in those spots, and have had no problems. I don't think it bled more than any of my other tattoos, and I think a small size and not that particular placement will lead to blurring.
Thanks for helping!! I really love tattoos on the collar bone and didn't want to move it but he got me worried :(
fresh rat Sept 08:
a minute ago: both rat and robin (rat feet and robin's red were just touched up a couple days ago)
ironically, they're both literary-related (based on Beatrix Potter's drawings)
I rarely like tattoos in this spot, but yours is absolutely beautiful!
I love this ! Beatrix Potter wins.
wow! great tattoo! thanks for sharing!
those are incredible!!
No, it's not mine just one similar to what I'm wanting. My artist refuses to do any that small (although I really like it).
Thanks. The artist I've been talking to refuses to do anything smaller than 3/4 inch no matter the placement, which after drawing it up isn't much bigger than I was planning.
wow beautiful!! i love how they curve to fit you perfectly! thanks so much for sharing!
well, i got my tattoo in november so i haven't had it for a TERRIBLY long time, but it's doing really well, still looks hella crisp.
sorry for the crappy quality.
beautiful tattoo! really great font! thanks for sharing. its really great to know that its still crisp :)
it does have to do with how small it is, but also how good the artist is as well. make sure yours is top notch and you should be fine.
thank you! i'm hoping that as long as i make sure the birds are a little larger and keep it simple that i'll be fine.
hmm, i need mine touched up (the top of the wings) but i never thought about it being because of the placement. i have to wait a few more weeks to get an appointment :/here's
a close up pic. it's navi from the legend of zalda :)
THAT IS SO CUTE
thanks :) i thought she could help me a little with finding some direction!
I saw this when you first posted it :) Amazing shading and color! Great tattoo! Thank you so much for sharing!
Dman you are new school Zelda, how about the dragon from level one Zelda one NES lol
Horse poo. It hurts badly when the needle crosses the collar bone, but my 5 year old tattoo looks lovely.
Thanks! That's really great to hear. Well, except for the pain part lol but its always worth it in the end :)
