My very first tattoo!

* * *
I've been following this community for years and I knew without a doubt my first tattoo would be literary based. I have a lord byron poem title and excerpt. I read it once and knew that this was the one for me. It's from his poem She Walks in Beauty.  It is a reminder that no matter where I am or what situation I'm in that there is still beauty everywhere.

my tattoo

I am now considering getting a Walt Whitman tattoo. Any suggestions or placement ideas?

I have no suggestions but I must say that tattoo is gorgeous.

Now for stupid question time: how much would you rate the pain on a foot tattoo? I have nine others but I'm leery about tattooing my foot.

I had built the pain up in my own head thinking that it was going to be unbearable and awful so when it happened and it was no where near as painful as I expected it was a relief. Keep in mind that this was my first tattoo so I have nothing to judge it against but it felt like someone was pinching my foot repeatedly and it was over in 20 minutes so that helped lol honestly I'm already searching for more foot tattoos so I'd give it a 4. Painful but not excruciating.

I love the font! Great tattoo.

And no idea on placement. The beauty of literary tattoos is that they look good everywhere.

love it, the placement is perfect for that quote. as for placement, i always come up with the image/words first and then see where it would fit well and work with my body.

Thank you! I thought the same. Originally I was going to get it on my collarbone but my tattoo artist was like "-_- seriously? Look at that quote! This totally has to go on your foot." Lol and I'm glad I listened. I'll take your advice on deciding what I want first and worry about placement later :)

I've read leaves of grass so many times I've lost count lol my only trouble is finding the perfect walt whitman quote. It's pressuring because I want it to be the perfect tribute to his work! Also thank you! I'm glad you like my tattoo!
