I've been following this community for years and I knew without a doubt my first tattoo would be literary based. I have a lord byron poem title and excerpt. I read it once and knew that this was the one for me. It's from his poem She Walks in Beauty. It is a reminder that no matter where I am or what situation I'm in that there is still beauty everywhere.
I had built the pain up in my own head thinking that it was going to be unbearable and awful so when it happened and it was no where near as painful as I expected it was a relief. Keep in mind that this was my first tattoo so I have nothing to judge it against but it felt like someone was pinching my foot repeatedly and it was over in 20 minutes so that helped lol honestly I'm already searching for more foot tattoos so I'd give it a 4. Painful but not excruciating.
Thank you! I thought the same. Originally I was going to get it on my collarbone but my tattoo artist was like "-_- seriously? Look at that quote! This totally has to go on your foot." Lol and I'm glad I listened. I'll take your advice on deciding what I want first and worry about placement later :)
I've read leaves of grass so many times I've lost count lol my only trouble is finding the perfect walt whitman quote. It's pressuring because I want it to be the perfect tribute to his work! Also thank you! I'm glad you like my tattoo!
